July Feature Update: Recommendations, Gemini support, Citations revamp and more!

It’s the second month since our launch, and we’ve rolled out some powerful new features. Let's take a look at what's new in July.

♊ Gemini now available

Gemini is now the second most used AI chatbot after ChatGPT, attracting 120M+ unique visitors each month. This made it one of the most requested additions to the platform.

There is more to Gemini than just traffic volume. It shares its core LLM with Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode. That means optimizing for Gemini can boost visibility in both chatbot responses and Google's broader AI search features.

To start tracking Gemini prompts:

  • Start a new prompt or edit an existing one
  • In the Configuration step, select Gemini as your target model

✍️ Citations improvements

We reorganized citations to make analysis easier. You can now browse citations:

  • By page: Identify pages where your product is missing, and reach out to them to get included on the page
  • By property: Group citations by domain to spot gaps or opportunities
  • By product: See where your competitors are mentioned

The UI now displays which products are associated with each citation, so you can quickly see if your product is included.

🦉 Beta version for our Recommendations feature

We have an early beta of our Recommendations feature ready and would love your feedback.

So far, recommendations cover three areas: Content, Authority Building, and Technical SEO. It’s still a work in progress, but we believe it can add value to your GEO efforts.

Using top research and our analysis of internal data, we built a first set of data-backed actions to improve your visibility on AI search platforms.

Recommendations combine GPTrends data on your product and competitors with website content and structure to act like a “GEO data analyst,” suggesting actionable steps with high impact for you to implement.

Current recommendations cover three areas:

  • Content Gaps: Find content topics where competitors rank but you don’t.
  • Authority Building: See which sources cite your competitors but not you, and take action by exploring partnership or profile-building opportunities.
  • Technical: Evaluates your site and suggests tech optimizations for GEO such as adding a llm.txt file, rendering changes and more.

We’re excited to hear your feedback as we refine this.

🎨 UI Revamp

It may be less flashy, but it matters. This update adds quality-of-life improvements to help you move faster, including:

  • Chart filters by prompt or tag
  • Prompt search
  • A new Rank metric for easy sorting

More usability upgrades are on the way.

So, what’s next? 🤖 Bot analytics!

We’re rolling out AI Bot Tracking soon, a new feature that lets you see how AI platforms are crawling your website.

Why does this matter? Because these bots don’t just train future models, they power real-time AI search and live answers. Their behavior shapes what content makes it into AI responses and how your brand is presented.

With our Bot Analytics, you’ll soon be able to:

  • Identify which bots are visiting your site — and how often
  • See exactly which pages are getting crawled (or ignored)
  • Spot trends, technical issues, or missed opportunities
  • Ensure your key content is being picked up correctly

This is what we consider Step 0 of GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), making sure AI systems can find and understand your site in the first place. You can read much more about how AI bots work here. This feature is now available to all users in Alpha. Try it out and let us know if you need help with the implementation.

P.S. We have a 7-day trial on all plans, check it out
